Gerard Designs
Hello, I noticed the other day that the only layer in Affinity Publisher that does not zoom to fit the screen when you double click on it is a linked file. I don't know if this is a bug or it is intended because it is a linked file?? Thank You Gerard
GarryP
Welcome to the forums. That’s a good question. Double-clicking the thumbnail of a ‘non-document layer’ zooms to make that layer fill the available area of the canvas. Double-clicking the thumbnail of an embedded document takes the user to edit that document. However, double-clicking the thumbnail of a linked document doesn’t seem to do anything. Now I’m also curious as to why this is so.
Staff stokerg Posted August 7, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 7, 2020 Hi @Gerard Designs and Welcome to the Forums, Also hello to @GarryP, This is working as expected. I've checked with the Dev team and they confirm this change was brought mainly due to opening PSD documents with Smart Objects, they often contain a layer called Double Click Me To Edit, which is why they enabled that option on Embedded Documents, which is what we convert PSD Smart Objects to.
