kanihoncho
When I use the crop tool in photo 1.8.4, and only cropping one side, it adds the amount I am cropping to the opposite side. I have done this repeatedly on separate files. I have even rasterized and trimmed the photo and it still happens. I am on macOS Catalina 10.15.5. Staff Chris B Posted August 5, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 5, 2020 Hey kanihoncho, I think this is a regression. We've seen a few reports. Currently speaking with the developers. Richard Liu
@Chris B, I seen several problems that seem to be regressions, i.e., fixed in the previous version, "unfixed" in the current one. How is that possible? Do your developers not perform regression tests on updates? Staff Patrick Connor Posted August 10, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 10, 2020 @kanihoncho Looking at the code changes for 1.8.4, we have identified a problem with the crop tool on Windows but not on Mac. Please can you provide a short video of the problem you are seeing. @Richard Liu On 8/8/2020 at 10:57 PM, Richard Liu said: How is that possible? With such a complex program it is impossible to test every possible combination of circumstances. Regressions are always possible, which is why we run public betas in an attempt to get as many eyes on the changes as possible. Are you seeing the same problem as kanihoncho? If not, feel free to start a new thread with any problems you are seeing using our applications, as this thread is for investigating their cropping problem. Fly_Boy
The crop tool is not working. I don't get the overlay grid and I don't get the frame or the handles to drag the frame to the desired image. This is the first time I have used version 1.8.4. I am on an older iMac running Catalina version 10.15.6. You can see my screen after I select the crop tool in the attached image. Staff Chris B Posted August 18, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 18, 2020 Hey Fly_Boy, Does this happen with other images? Have you tried restating the app etc. I can't say I've seen this reported before so I'm guessing at the minute. We should at least rule out that we've restarted and tried new images. Fly_Boy
It appears that restarting both the computer and Photo has fixed the problem. Patrick Connor
