uncle808us Posted August 4, 2020 Share Posted August 4, 2020 I'm getting constant crashes now when using the pencil tool in Designer for mac newest update1.8.4. 1.8.3 did not do this. OS 10.11.6 don't blame it on the system. like I said it did not do this in 1.8.3. This is frustrating. Pleas fix ASAP! Thanks. Quote Mac MacBook Pro 15 in. uncle808us Posted August 6, 2020 Author Share Posted August 6, 2020 I never know when it will happen.(when I'll need the pencil tool) and I can't screen shoot the entire work flow of an entire project. So what you ask is a bit weird to me. All I can say is that it has happen several times and slows down my workflow as the recovery of the project sometimes misses a few steps that have to be re-done and it also gives me a sense of foreboding about using the pencil tool. uncle808us Posted August 10, 2020 Author Share Posted August 10, 2020 Well today I had a project to finish in Affinity Designer 1.8.4 for on my MacBook Pro OSX El Capitan Ver 10.11.6 and got to use it for about ten minutes before the pencil tool caused a crash... Yippee... I guess I won't be making any money using Designer. Please don't explain this crash away by saying I should update the OS. My computer is too Old to run anything newer than OS 10.11.6. Unless you guys would like to buy me a newer model MacBook Pro. I don't want to lose money already invested in your app and it is supposed to run on this system. So.. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum post listed below. The latest beta build is downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts. Affinity Designer 1.9.0 beta for Mac This beta installs parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version. Once our beta programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.9.0 update/patch to all customers.
