Tried to repeat, but after any action on close, a save prompt appears.

Not with me.

1. Open Image

2. Choose the Crop option and simply rotate the object

3. Close from the X

4. The application closes without any prompts.

I have no words to describe just how stupid I am to not realize that was what you were doing when I read your first post

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Did you press the Apply button before pressing the X button?

Should that matter? The document has changed - I thought this should flag changes in the document. However if what you are saying which kind of makes sense then I guess not.

How about ‘not stupid at all’, Carl? We’d have to be mind readers to realize that the OP was describing the effect of using the Crop Tool to perform the rotation.

If you don’t press the Apply button to apply the changes then no changes have been made (regardless of how it looks on the screen), therefore – in this specific case – there are no changes to be saved, therefore a prompt to save changes (that haven’t been made) is not necessary. To me it’s working as expected.
