The problem after update to 1.8.4 is: I could work with 1.8.3 and not with the 1.8.4.693 beta that is now the new release. I have to go back to 1.8.3. Yes you will need to remove 1.8.4 to install 1.8.3. You can only have one retail version and one beta version installed at a time. We're currently investigating this. Unfrotuantely, when you initially let us know about this, it was still being looked into by myself so it was not logged with the developers before release so it is not their fault, but mine. I am sorry. I was trying to work out what had changed which is what the QA team try to do before feeding back to dev.
