Affinity-Inspiration
So with the new update, 1.8.4 Designer Bleed & Margins not working with Artboards. Or, not working properly. On my iPad. Here’s what I’ve tried. 1. Open a new blank document for Print mode, A4 2. Add an artboard, add a vector layer to it. 3. Show Bleed and add bleeds at 3mm. 4. Add margins. Both options work fine, showing both Bleed and margin guides. NEXT 1. Open a New Document, Print, A4, with Artboard checked as well. 2. select artboard, add a vector layer 3. Show Bleed and margins and try and set them... nothing. No result. just doesn’t work. Si I’m wondering if maybe there is an option I’m not aware of. Robert Quote iPad Mini 6. 256GB. Publisher. Robert Agree it’s not working, also margin guides don’t work either so likely related. A workaround appears to be to add the art board after you open the document, bleed and margins appear to work again then. Quote My dad always told me, a bad workman always blames their tools…. Affinity-Inspiration
Thanks Paul. Yes, I discovered that as a workaround. Quote iPad Mini 6. 256GB. Publisher. Designer. Photo for Mac, PC & iOS @Affinity-Inspiration
Staff Lee D Posted August 4, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 4, 2020 This is a known issue logged with our developers before the 1.8.4 update. One thing to note with a workaround is that the bleed will be visible if you convert an existing document with a bleed to an Artboard but not editable, this is also logged. Thomahawk
Me too. I have defined 3mm bleed for the Designer Document (Designer 1.8.4) and set to print bleed and crop marks, but no bleed is printed.
Affinity-Inspiration
You must have the document type set to Print (press ready) when you first create the document with New Document then it should be ok.
