DarkClown
Pretty hard to believe and very disappointing ... such a basic feature for a vectorial program! NOT HAPPY! heldrida
@DarkClown that's a bit harsh, coders have feelings too! Programming is difficult and what they've been doing in such a small timeframe (just compared to Illustrator) is incredible! Skew is not a basic feature. Has been requested, I'm sure they'll be releasing anytime soon

DarkClown
You make me feel guilty now ... Thankfully this has nothing to do with the programmers ... it's a basic feature decision - most likely not taken by the programmers. And it's been on the list for more than 2 years. (Btw: it's not about "Skew" ... Designer can skew. It's about trapezoid and other perspective transformations) Jowday and fernandolins86 2 Quote i7-12700KF, 3.60 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet, Windows 11 Pro - AP, AD and APublisher V1 and V2https://www.timobierbaum.com

TLG60178
UGH! This, along with many other features I've been needing, have been on the roadmap for 4+ years... Hope to see some leaps and bounds progress soon... :/ Jowday
tomol012
This is a huge disappointment that this feature is not available in Designer alone. It seemed like a good thing that Designer and Photo are separate apps but after a few months of trying to use Designer I see both apps needs themselves like air. Should be one app instead. Most users of this will come from Photoshop and it is a difficult change after all Jowday

Mischugo
Sorry, I just don't have time for beta versions right now. Affinity is not the only provider of software. And "thank God" I don't have to use it every day either. Jowday 1 Quote Die Now Live Later - KMFDM

You don't have to try the betas, but if you browse a bit in the beta forums you will see that the developers have been very busy adding quite a few new features to the apps, & that they are asking users willing to try them out to test them thoroughly before releasing them in the upcoming 1.7 retail versions. You will also see that they have explained that adding these features required major revisions in the code, which is why there have been no recent updates to the retail apps. In short, there are bunches of new features in the pipeline, but they won't be added until they are thoroughly tested & ready for production use. Mischugo
Many thanks for the helpful information. I look very rarely here, because I don't use Affinity very often anymore. Especially because so many things didn't really work or were missing. I don't doubt the ability of the team. But, sorry, I'm only interested in the result :-) Thanks again Jowday 1 Quote Die Now Live Later - KMFDM
Phatman
As far as I can tell the 1.7 beta improves the existing code and current tool functionality rather than add new features. I’m surprised it’s not been made into the production version by now. I can live with using Inkscape to trace but a perspective tool would be a nice everyday feature to have. I can use Inkscape to do it and import the EPS it until it arrives. Jowday 1 Quote flickr - https://www.flickr.com/photos/s-t-e-v-e/

fernandolins86
This is sad. This thread is from 2014. Almost 5 years waiting on a feature so I can ditch Photoshop and Illustrator. Jowday and DarkClown
abarkalo
Perspective skew is one of the very basic things I need to do, not only as a raster but as a vector. As a user said above, without this feature it is hard to ditch Adobe Illustrator. I can do without the other Illustrator features but not this one. Rasterizing and perspective skewing in Photo does work of course but then your artwork looks different once you bring your raster back into Designer and combine with the other pure vector forms. Or you can to create a super high res raster and that adds significantly to the image size. Jowday
