Is there a way to change Frame text to Artistic text without retyping?

If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed!

You could copy and paste - a bit quicker than retyping!

How do I change copied Frame text to Artistic text before pasting?

Click anywhere in your Text Frame and choose menu “Select → Select All” (or select the text you want to ‘convert’), then use the Copy function (CTRL+C, etc.), then create your Artistic Text (without typing anything) and use the Paste function (CTRL+V, etc.).

This doesn't seem to work. See my attached file.

There are three dimensions and so that I can resize them (scale with object) I will have to convert the Frame text into Artistic text. To help with this I have put them on a separate layer so that I can change them to Artistic text in one go. Can you use this file to demonstrate the change?

You’re only copying the (three pieces of) text, not the container objects, so you can’t change them all in one go.

AH! Sorry I misunderstood what you meant. This would be very laborious. Is there no way to do all the text at the same time? That's why I put them on a separate layer.

If this is the only way then I would simply rasterize the whole drawing and resize that.

One of the oddities I found in this exercise was that when a Constraint is applied to a group like this dimension file I had to make the right and left hand strokes twice as thick as the horizontal one in order for them all to appear 0.5pt think. What is going on here?

I’m just guessing, Jack, but it sounds as though it might be a stroke alignment issue.

Can you see what I mean when you look at the file? Is this a possible bug?

I hadn’t downloaded it until now (which is why I said I was just guessing) but I do indeed see what you mean. Changing the stroke alignment doesn’t seem to have any visual effect.
