What am I buying exactly?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'd like to know what I am spending my money on when I buy Affinity Photo or Designer.

It is not fully clear to me whether I am buying a license for a current version, all versions or a limited time use. Is it a subscription? Is it a permanent version? Or is it permanent and always updated?

Kind regards,

Joël la Soe

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Joël. :)

The licence is a perpetual licence for the current major version, so all 1.x updates are free but you will have to pay for version 2 (when it eventually arrives!) if you want to take advantage of the bug fixes and new features that come with it. There is no subscription fee, and the version/s you purchase will continue to function as long as your operating system supports it/them.

Also important: It is a license for a single OS platform (Windows, Mac, or iPad). If you need both Windows and Mac, for example, that will require a separate license for each.

But if you are private individual, you can use your license on all of the computers of that type as you own or control, as long as no one but you uses the application commercially.
