whitespace/tabspace automatically inserted and can't be removed

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

I have been using a list feature in Affinity Publisher and all of a sudden my list is inserting white space (presumably a tab space) in front of my content in a list. When I press backspace, it removes the list. How can I remove this tab space without removing the numbering?

Windows 10, Affinity Publisher

It looks like you have a non-zero first line indent set for the paragraphs of your list. Select all the affected paragraphs & either drag the triangle at the top of the text ruler all the way to the left or open the Paragraph studio panel & set the first line indent value to zero to remove this white space.

Thanks for the suggestion, R C-R! I tried to highlight it, and there's no triangle to move. See attached (FYI, those objects in the white space have been inserted outside of the text environment).

The colons are lined up, the numbers are under the tab symbol. I don't know why the staff symbol is highlighted.

I think you have a distance setting in the list which is shown here in the Text Styles pane as a Tab symbol. Oddly this tab is not shown in the Tab Ruler.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

@Old Bruce, I could be wrong but I think the OP is talking about the white space to the left of the numbers.
