JakeMacgill
I'm working with a PowerMac laptop. My OS is High Sierra. If this matters. I'm just learning Affinity and have never made a brush before, so I'm new to this. I've encountered this issue In Designer 1.8.3. I'm trying to create a new Textured Intensity Brush. I'm using the .png file shown. When I create the new brush I have white bars at either end of the brush stroke show up in my brush (as shown in screen shot). What am I doing wrong? What can I do to eliminate those bars at either end?

Does the png file contain white (or transparent) borders, which then make these white bars? Staff Dan C Posted July 31, 2020 Staff Share Posted July 31, 2020 Hi @JakeMacgill, Welcome to the forums As Psenda has mentioned above, the PNG file you're using not only has a transparent border of 1px on both the left and right side, there is also large transparent gaps either side of the image. I opened the PNG in Designer and resized the canvas to exactly 1000px wide. I then moved the image to the middle of the canvas and used the Vector Crop tool to remove the 1px borders. After this, the image was exported out to PNG and when used to create a new brush these 'bars' are not shown - 2020-07-31 11-54-12.mp4 I hope this helps! JakeMacgill
Pšenda and Dan C. Thank you! Another lesson learned today. Thank you for the video, Dan. I will go in and work through the layers and fix things. This ensures that I remember this in the future to avoid this mistake.
