batch exporting artboards to seperates jpg files from affinity designer

Recommended Posts

Hello Affinity,

I have a request being able to export whole artboards  from affinity designer into separated files (jpg/png/others) instead of choosing it one by one.

best regards from warm sunny Indonesia.

If you mean exporting each artboard to a separate file, with each of them exported in one or more of the supported export file formats, this is easily done using the Export Persona. As explained here, Slices are automatically created for each individual artboard, so all you have to do is select one or more export formats for each of them & then click the "Export Slices (n)" button at the bottom of the Slices panel to export all of them in one step.

For example, below you can see that there are slices for each of my document's 3 artboards plus the 'background' one that would include all of them in one file. Since I do not want that, I unchecked it so it won't be included in the slices export. I also set Artboard3 to export to both a high quality JPEG & an 8 bit RGB TIFF preset, & the other two artboards to export to use other export presets.

The only slightly deceptive thing about this is the button says there will be 3 exports but actually there will be 4:

No it said you were exporting 3 slices. And you did. It said nothing about how many exports (files) there would be, which you determined by the number of export formats you asked for :)

Why does your PNG file show up as "Affinity...enable" rather than PNG image?

Yes I tried a little bit, and it works. well it's not as easy as Adobe Illustrator but it does the job. I will look into this tips more later.
Thank you for the tips @ R C-R

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is controlled by the 'Default app' for that file type (PNG) on R C-Rs Mac :)

@Dan C is right. I set the default app to open PNG files to AP, so in Finder "Kind" shows as "Affinity Openable" (which was truncated to "Affinity...enable" because the column is not wide enough to show every letter).
