Incorrect presentation of the numbering in the Master Pages

When I insert a page numbering field, the hash always lands outside the frame.

Not only that, two-digit numbers are presented vertically, regardless of the size of the field.

Could you do screenshots of the Paragraph and Character panel while having the text frame of your page number selected? I think there must be something wrong, as the number has to be centered shown by your screenshot.

There are values in the Paragraph panel for "Left indent" and "First line indent" that are not needed / too big resp. the values are bigger than the text frame itself.
