Scale Selected Nodes

Recommended Posts

Alright, I am sure someone else has probably brought it up at some point or another, but I couldn't see it in my cursory look through the request page, so here I go.

I'd really like to see a Scale tool implemented like the one in Illustrator, where you can select multiple nodes and scale them in or outwards from the center point of the selection. I have been a vector artist for many, many years, coming up on 20 years soon, and not being able to select specific nodes from a shape and scale them in relation to the selection is really keeping me from making Designer my go to for vector art. It's such a huge part of my work flow while putting together basic designs that I just feel like something is missing when I can't just hit S and make whatever changes necessary

I show what I mean in the video, but if Affinity Designer had this one singular function added, I would never have to pay for Illustrator ever again. Please, please consider adding in something like this, it would be amazing.

Thanks for your time.

Select node with Node Tool, set Transform Mode, resize (with Ctrl + Shift).

You're welcome - at least I saved you a little money for paying the Illustrator :-)

Hi Solidsmith

As i see,  you create a new Star in Affinity Designer
it should be a Smart Shape.

Select your Star and pull/push this red dots to transformate
your Star.

There are many changeable Smart Shapes in Affinity Designer,
try it out. ;-)

I think it was just an example for the need to manipulate multiple nodes at once, and that, like me, he created it using Star Tools (with Convert to Curves) - as can be seen in his video.
