Not at the moment but it has been requested before so the Devs are aware of the desire for such a function

ok, thanks, so could you recommend the best way to replicate the same Save to Web process in Affinity?

without the visualization but with the same control over canvas and file size/type, i.e. optimize for website content usage?

The File > Export screen will allow you to change the quality setting and will show you an approximation of the file size for that setting.

Unfortunately, it's pure guesswork as to how the file will look at different quality settings unless you reload the exported file and examine it that way.

At this time minimizing the exported file size and maintaining an acceptable quality is not a quick/easy process in APhoto which is why a lot of people still use alternative programs for this final stage of their Web work

is it possible to create a transparent GIF image?

Not to my knowledge, it is the way the GIF is coded. PNG (16) was created to address this problem.

Note: I could well be wrong.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

It is possible to include transparent pixels in a GIF image, but (unlike the PNG format) the GIF format doesn’t support alpha transparency: pixels in a GIF image are always fully opaque or fully transparent. A ‘transparent’ pixel in a GIF image is actually filled with a colour, but that colour is defined as the transparent colour in the palette associated with the image.

what i need to know is if i can do it in Affinity Photo?

Yes, of course. If you make sure that the document has a transparent background, exporting all or part of the document to GIF format will give you an image with a transparent background.
