Arabic Unicode symbols not supported in Affinity photo iPad ?

Hi everyone,

I just bought Affinity photo on the iPad Pro and I was trying to insert an Arabic Unicode symbol to add it to a picture but instead of pasting it, a missing icon is shown. I don’t understand why Affinity photo don’t support that while others app on iOs like Procreate, Pixelmator or photoshop do...Can someone help me ?

What was being pasted and which font was being applied to the text as usually a missing icon indicates the font doesn't have the symbol available.

Thanks for your reply, if i try to past any of these arabic unicode symbols, it shows me a square.  ( see attached pictures )

You still haven’t told us which font(s) you were trying to use. Other apps may substitute the character from a ‘fallback’ font if it isn’t included in the font that you’ve chosen, but the Affinity apps don’t do this.

Well not needed now because it worked like magic... I’ve just installed Times New Roman and pasted the Unicode symbols and that’s it !

Since you’re a new member your editing rights may be limited, but if you can still edit your original post you should be able to amend the topic title. It’s not really necessary, though, so I wouldn’t worry about it!
