einwwiew
Dear Serif, will it ever be possible to rotate the canvas, as in the ipad version? In the ipad version it is possible, why not in Windows?
Rick G
From the Document Menu you can find the rotate and flip options along with the handy shortcuts Chris B, einwwiew and debraspicher 2 1 Affinity Designer 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Affinity Photo 2.2.2075 beta 2.3.1.2212Affinity Publisher 2.2.2075 & beta 2.3.1.2212 Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1928 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
einwwiew
thanks for your response. I'm looking for something like this, would be cool if it found its way into affinity photo.
Frozen Death Knight
The news we got on having this feature was that Affinity on Windows needs GPU acceleration before it is possible to create a similar tool like in Photoshop. GPU acceleration is in the works, so we'll see what kind of priority a rotation tool will have after that is implemented. einwwiew
Mark Ingram
You can rotate the canvas now, View menu, rotate left, rotate right. It's not a free rotation (as we don't have a tool for it), but if you have a Surface Dial, we allow free canvas rotation when using that. einwwiew
einwwiew
I already did the workaround by mapping the shortcut for left and right rotation to my keyboard, it is working, but not as convenient, as in other programs. By the way thx for your support, and for this amazing program!👍 Mark Ingram
moatdd
How about a Scrubby Rotate hotkey (similar to how you have Scrubby Zoom) Use Space & CTRL for scrubby-zoom, and Space & ALT for Scrubby-Rotate. Then, when dragging on the canvas, the initial drag-start point is used as a pivot point (or, use the center of the canvas as the rotational pivot), and then dragging around the pivot point will rotate the canvas. moatdd
... or you could just not bother. Being able to freely rotate the canvas is a must for people who rely on free-handed drawing workflows and there's no way I'm running a marathon of illustration with this rock in my shoe.
