simon.widmer
Hi, I'd like to only use the real metric units, everywhere. Subdivided by 10ths — see upper edge of wooden ruler. Publisher subdivides metric rulers by halves like you would do in your medieval unit of measurement — on the wooden ruler's lower edge. Switching from mm to cm to m or zooming in shows the madness. A proper design application's ruler would go 0 - 1 - 2 0 - 0.1 - 0.2 0 - 0.01 - 0.02 When I say everywhere, I also mean font sizes. In the age of sharp printers and screens, I really don't care about standard lead letter sizes. Call me a peasant if you like.
fde101
You can make the units for text sizes match the ruler units by unchecking the "Show Text in Points" option under User Interface in Preferences. There is also a "Show Lines in Points" option you can turn off to do the same with line widths.
