fabuladesigner Posted August 11, 2015 Share Posted August 11, 2015 Hi, I am brand new to design softwares and I am trying to edit a file created in Adobe Illustrator. When I open the file in Affinity Designer, all the fonts are changed to Arial. Here are the fonts: ACaslonPro - regular BauerBodoni - italic Bodoni - book italic BrandonGrotesque - bold DIN - bold DIN - regular Gotham - book Gotham - light Gotham - medium Do I have to purchase the fonts to use them in Affinity Designer? Staff Lee D Posted August 12, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 12, 2015 Hi fabuladesigner, Welcome to the forums. You usually need the fonts installed in OS X so Designer can use them. Try changing a setting in Designers Preferences to see if it has any effect when you open the .AI file. On the General tab, uncheck Favour editable text over fidelity > Close, then open your file.
