Facing issue with iCloud

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just bought Affinity Designer for macOS.

  1. Make a new file on iPad.
  2. Save the file as Save a copy
  3. Open the file with Open From Cloud on iPad.
  4. Make a red square and save.
  5. go to my MacBook and open the file. change the red square.
  6. go back to the file on iPad. The square isn’t updated.

The file's icon view will update in the files app with the change on my iPad but when I open the file, the change isn't showing. However, if I change the red square on my iPad and open on my MacBook, the red square will have updated and show correctly.

Is this a known issue? If so, what is the workflow for changing a file on my MacBook and having it update the file on my iPad.

Thanks!

Hi @ojankioa Welcome to the Affinity forums. 👍

As @DM1 asks above I think the issue happens between steps 5 and 6.

I would do the following:

5. On my MacBook > Open from Cloud > change the red square > Save to Cloud > *Choose an updated filename such as yourfilename-edited.afdesign

6. Select Open from Cloud on iPad > The square has updated.

If you go back to an open file on your iPad it will not auto-update with the edits from your MacBook.

* I recommend updating the filename as when you open the file on your iPad you might still have the original open and it is possible to overwrite your MacBook work if you get confused. This way you have an original you can go back to should you need to and your updated work.
