Push part of a text frame around an image.

Recommended Posts

Hi all, hoping someone here can provide me with some help in achieving something in publisher. I have created as an asset  a picture frame with a rounded corner in the top left. I have also added to this image frame group a round text frame in the same location so it looks like the following. This is because I am going to have multiple of these boxes with instructions and the green circle with the number in it will be used to designate the step we are on. Some of these sections will have text in them as in the image below. In a number of cases this has not been an issue as the text has been placed to the right of the the image (once placed) or beneath it. However in this instance what I would like to do is place the text as shown however i want the top line to be pushed a few mm away from the circle but still have the next line flow under it as seen in the image.

I have tried playing with the text wrap settings of both the circle with the 3 in it and the text frame with the sentence in it but I just cannot seem to get anything to work. I am sure this is possible but short of either making the text box with the sentence smaller and losing the flow beneath the circle or using another text box I am not sure how to tackle this.

Is this the sort of thing you want? See attached image and document.
I’ve used the Pinning – Float With Text functionality, combined with Text Wrap, on the ellipses to get it. Select an Ellipse and open the Pinning Panel (menu View → Studio → Pinning).
My document isn’t formatted very well – I did it quickly – but you can get an idea of what you can do.
