AlejandroJ
I bought Affinity Photo and Affinity Design. I like both, but regarding drawing abilities (not illustrating) I think Serif DrawPlus (which I also have) keeps being stronger and I still use it. If I would have to do an illustration, I would use Affinity Designer, but if I would have to do a more technical drawing (not that technical that it would be better to draw it using AutoCAD or a program of the kind) or a presentation for what is my line of work, I would choose to work using DrawPlus. There are mainly two things that DrawPlus had and not Affinity Design that allowed me to assemble presentations and planning schemes or drafts in no time. One, is that DrawPlus can import and export DWG file and AutoCAD block. This has already been asked for, in a previous thread. The other thing is that DrawPlus had plenty of vector brushes and lots of very useful vector images at “Gallery”.So, what I am asking for here is for more vector brushes and vector objects (assets) to be put at our disposal. I tried but couldn’t export / import those from DrawPlus into Affinity Design (because it probably can’t be done), although I can copy vector images from one and paste in the other (not brushes as they are pasted as a raster image and not as a vector drawing). But for what I have seen, with Affinity Design, if willing to get more brushes or already done assets, one depends on other users developing and providing them through this same web site (at “Resources”).If I want to assemble a presentation or drawing, I prefer to devote all my time in doing so and not to have to loose time drawing what I could get already done. For example trees or plants, I can import them to DrawPlus as AutoCAD blocks or even use the ones in “Gallery” > “Plants”. Think of all the time I would loose if having to draw the plants by myself, or a car or whatever instead of concentrating on expressing the message I want to convey through a presentation. borkia and 2989
2989
I agree with Alejandro. I too have All the Serif Legacy programs all the way back to X2..... I would love to be able to use the brushes and assets in these programs. Has anyone come up with a way to transfer the assets from the older Serif programs that are not currently loaded? Is it possible from the Serif website (with proof of purchase) just to extract these files? And also the brushes for the current X8 and previous legacy programs. These Earlier programs had some better items available than the current, all singing, all dancing Affinity Programmes. One would think that the newer programs would be better but in some instances this is not the case. Please, please if anyone knows how to move the brushes over to work in Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo please post here.. Many Thanks
