YukkiGarage
Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a drawing tab, and there's a lot more reasonably priced options that I had kinda expected. I'm looking at the XP-Pen 11 and Huion Pro 13. Something small but effective particularly with brushes on very large canvas' that get vinyl printed. (I do car wrap designs) Obviously I want the most compatibility for the buck, but you start reading the good and the bad and you just like... FML So yeah I'd love to hear feedback from actual AD users. Thank in advance Attached pic is what I do, Itasha wrap design as well as photography. Designed on AD and Photo edited with AP. Markio
It's quite remarkable that I would have recommended a Wacom tablet for a couple of years ago without a second thought. And at the moment there are actually very good alternatives for Wacom tablet.
YukkiGarage
Thank you guys for the recommendations. Looks like XPP is the Affinity as the Wacoms is Adobe XD I bought the Artist12 Pro this morning, Prime says i'll have it tomorrow So hopefully it goes well. Eftaliotis
Are there any compatibility problems with non-Wacom tablets or do they now all use the same API? I looked up tablets in Affinity support and documentation and ran across a dire warning that suggested that non-Wacom tablets might not be compatible. Staff Dan C Posted March 29, 2021 Staff Share Posted March 29, 2021 Hi @Eftaliotis, I can confirm that we work directly with Wacom to test their new driver versions within Affinity to ensure that the Wacom tablets remain compatible with Affinity, as this is the only manufacturer we work directly with, we can only offer a guaranteed compatibility with Wacom. However many of our staff members and users alike use different brands of drawing tablets - in our tech support/qa teams alone we use Wacom, Huion & XP Pen tablets, all of which work as expected. As far as I'm aware, almost all Wacom, Huion and XP Pen tablets should be compatible within Affinity, should you have any queries regarding a specific model/brand then please do let us know and I can look into compatibility for this model for you Eftaliotis 1 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! All the unique brushes work perfectly, the curve pen tool adds a few too many nodes when drawing with it but Its probably just a setting I haven't bothered to look at lol Dan C and Eftaliotis 1

If I'm not doing any real drawing and instead just using the tablet for mask editing, accurate selection and things like that, would the Small version of the XP-Pen tablet be sufficient? The Medium looks huge and I'd rather not have it on my desk if possible.
