no thumbnail view when opening designer files

Recommended Posts

When i go to open a file in Designer i only see the Designer Icon as a replacement for the thumbnail of my design.  I used to see thumbnails what has changed?  I checked my MS Edge properties and the appropriate box is unchecked so it should show them.  When i open a windows folder, all i see is the title of my design and only the Designer Icon, i have no way to see my designs without actually opening t he file in Designer.  Suggestions please.

I am not a Windows user so I can't help with its folder options, but please note that the icons shown are Affinity Publisher icons, not Affinity Designer icons.

MS Edge

Edge is web browser. You mean MS Explorer?

Preferences, General, Thumbnail stored with your document?

It is OS (Explorer) settings - "Open in".

Also, all of my other files still show no thumbnail

And were they saved with the Preferences / General / Thumbnail option?

I just saved this file in Designer.  The thumbnail is now showing but as you can see the icon on the file shows Publisher.  Also, all of my other files still show no thumbnail and are the wrong Icon.

Did the thumbnail image for this file still remain displayed after it finished syncing with OneDrive?
