hellotellodesign Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Hey there, I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong or what is wrong with afd file that is causing it to pixelate when I export it to a png. This file is being used for various things. It's for a church sermon series and we post it on the web, we turn it into a slide that is projected on a large screen, post to instagram and facebook. So would very much like it to not pixelate. I am new to Affinity Design so I am hoping that maybe I am just have my file setup wrong. Attaching afd file and the png that I get when exporting it. Any help would be great! Thanks, Steph ReThink.afdesign Quote
Staff Leigh Posted August 11, 2015 Staff Posted August 11, 2015 Welcome to the forums hellotellodesign :D When you're using the image on your website or projector are you viewing it 100%? Quote
Staff MEB Posted August 11, 2015 Staff Posted August 11, 2015 Hi Steph, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) The PNG file will only look pixelated (or blurred depending on the software you are using too view it) if used at a bigger (or smaller) size than what was exported. The PNG you posted above has 960px (width), so if you display it on a projector with a resolution of 1280px at full screen it will not look as good as it could be. In that case you should export a PNG with 1280px (width) for that purpose. Likewise on a webpage, the above PNG should be displayed at 960px to look good. Raster images are resolution dependent meaning they only look good when viewed (on screens) at the exported dimensions as Leigh pointed out. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
