"The file includes features from a later version of Affinity.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am currently trying to open a set of files on my newly updated 1.8.3 Affinity Designer. The message I received was "The file includes features from a later version of Affinity." A part of this set was 18 low complexity images. Out of the 18, I was only able to open 3 of the design files. The other 15 gave the error. I not sure why 3 out of 18 would work as they all used the same design method to be created. I can post a file of design file that worked and a couple that did not. Please let me know what I can do to fix this issue.

Interesting. All 3 of your "broken" files will Open properly for me on Windows using Designer 1.8.3.641.

Do you see this version number in Help -> About?

I gave up using Designer for hobby use - a "professional" vector drawing program without actual vector features. Customers waiting for five years in vain is more than any company can ask for. Maybe if Affinity Designer 2.0 gets real and advanced vector features I can use it. Until then... I am a customer, a potential upgrader and an active observer with an opinion. Currently I am slowly finishing a project I started in Designer.

Further... give up and please hire an UX (usability designer), Serif. It is how professional software is made in this century.

Hello, I am currently using the version listed in the image below. I also received this problem transferring the file to another computer.

Hi Anthony M.

Are you double clicking the files or using File > Open? Have you tried placing the files elsewhere (such as on the desktop) and opening them from there?
