James Wood
Can someone advise please. I want to play around with a LUTS on my PC, WINDOWS 10. I downloaded a package from PhotoWhoa, and things seem to be working fine. What I find frustrating is that you can’t see what the individual Luts will look like until you apply them to the image. Am I missing something, or is this normal?
jmwellborn
Welcome to the forums @James Wood! It is normal with my Mac. If you find some LUTs that you particularly like after opening, you can save them as Presets, and then you will have their images to view. Tons of Presets — I believe — really slow down opening the apps. I have made a printed document composed of screen shots of one image, showing it with varying LUTs applied. It took a little time to do, but weeded out the “keepers” from the rest. Very old fashioned solution, but it works! James Wood
That is a great help, and a simple solution. Thank you. when you save as a preset. Is that the “Presets” button, that appears when you open the LUTS folder to search for LUTS?
jmwellborn
@James Wood Yes. to save a Preset, select the LUT you wish to use, then click the PRESETS button. Name your LUT in the popup menu and then save. When you wish to find it again, go to the Adjustments Panel (VIEW>Studio>Adjustments) and scroll down to LUT. Your presets will appear as thumbnails. Hope this helps!! (By the way, I should have named the LUT "Sunset Whiskey", but I was not planning to actually save it. It comes from a beautiful pack of LUTS by Olivio Sarikas.)
