Trim canvas size to drawing size

A rather significant omission, don't you think?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

You can do it in two steps, i believe.

Step 1: Layer - Convert Object to Artboard

Step 2: Layer - Convert Artboard to Object

Affinity Photo - Affinity Designer - Affinity Publisher | macOS Sonoma (14.2) on 16GB MBP14 2021 with 2.4 versions

Thanks -- but that's greyed out for almost every object selection I make 🤔

It looks like it works for individual objects. If you have multiple, you can take the biggest ones and drag the other objects into the canvast of that biggest one. Probably, it won't work in complex situations.

Yeah, but even then only for some simple shapes or text boxes.

For bitmaps or more complex paths, it's not available.

Well, I don't urgently need it at the moment anyway.
