Fouquet Roger
good afternoon, can anybody explain me how I have to do it in affinity Photo to draw a rectangle of 40 by 30 cm. I have tried but did not find the way to give in the dimensions of the rectangle. the raison is that I frame my artworks into frames with a cutout the same as my picture. now I have to guess and try but that takes a lot of time. thx for a little bite of help Best Regards from Belgium, Roger
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Fouquet Roger. One method: Draw a rectangle of any size. Then with the Move Tool, select the rectangle and use the Transform studio panel to change the rectangle to the size you want. You can, for example, put 40cm in one of the size boxes and 30cm in the other. MKM Pottery Tools
Yes. Walt.farrell's reply is correct. Draw any size rectangle using the rectangle tool. Don't even worry about dimensions. Then select the rectangle you have just created and use the studio/transform panel to type in the exact dimensions of the rectangle that you would like. Takes three seconds total time. Definitely the fastest method I have found for exact dimensioning of objects. Also useful for the exact positioning of objects. prophet
An even faster technique would be to mimic the feature in InDesign where you single click with the rectangle tool and it presents a dialog where you can input exact dimensions.
