Bigfriendly
Hello everybody:) Just signed up for the forum and this is my first post. What I'm trying to do is figure out the easiest way to split one shape like the one I pasted here so I can assign a different color to each section. I've figured out the text on path part from reading the tutorials but cutting a diamond into four pieces so I can assign a fill color to each section is beyond me. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott:)
softsound
Does this help? Just take a diamond and cut it in half twice. The little triangle piece you have can be copied to make 4 pieces. Once you have your four pieces all you have to do is turn them until they all fit.. I cut the diamond by using a rectangle or square shape and the subtract tool. firstdefence
To make the triangle use the triangle shape. Drag out a triangle holding shift down and then and drag the red control node over to the left. Then relocate the rotation centre duplicate and rotate 3x Pšenda 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... GarryP
To add to the techniques and advice above you can also use clipping, as in my attached file and image. clipping-for-multiple-colours.afdesign

I got the little circle with the cross to pop up. Which keys are you using when you rotate clockwise like in your picture? Are you just copying the same layer three times? Does it actually spin the three new layers into position like in your picture with perfect spacing between all four layers? I was able to bumble my way around and get four layers that are the same size and rotate them but I couldn't quite get all four layers to line up perfectly. Thanks again for everybody's help:)
