budpaul
I recently adopted AD as my go-to for some graphical work I do and will readily admit that I'm a total novice. I actually used to use Adobe Flash as my tool of choice (I learned my way around Flash about 20 years ago and just got comfortable. Unfortunately, I have steadfastly refused to adopt Adobe Cloud and now my older Flash will no longer work with my Mac, hence the need to move to a new program). Anyway, I've enjoyed learning and figuring out how to do things, though I know I'm more than likely to find workarounds for some things I want to do as opposed to learning them "properly". With all that said, I found myself stumped on what I thought might be easy, and I'm also no doubt handicapped by my ignorance on basic program verbiage. Here's my current issue: I created a simple black circle/ring. I would like to remove a small section at the bottom of this circle/ring, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how!!! Currently, I'm using a white trapezoid to block out the area, but I want to actually remove this segment from the ring. HOW???!!! Use Edit menu/ Boolean Subtract. If new to AD you might find this Help file version easier to read. IMG_4341.MP4 Paul Mudditt 1 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). budpaul
Many thanks. I think a big problem I was making for myself was trying to do it with the circle BORDER and not just making a "donut". Now that I've done it the donut way, the subtraction works. And also, thanks for the user guide.

Or you could draw two circles with black fill, one slightly smaller. Then place smaller circle over larger, select both and use subtract. 🙂 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
