sldx
Not sure how other people work, but I use the arrow keys quite a bit to nudge objects around. The ability to change the nudge distance seems vital to me. Is it buried somewhere or is it non-existant? As a workaround, I went with the option of fairly large documents (3k and upwards) so as to keep the standard 1px nudge small enough to be usable, but I still find I want to change it. Do you have any workarounds for moving objects a tiny amount?
Staff MEB Posted August 7, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 7, 2015 Hi sldx, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Yes, currently it's fixed to 1px and 10 pixels when pressing ⇧ (shift). There's no way to customise this Nudge distance yet. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Barraka!
+1 -> it would be extremely precious to be able to set it for example to 1mm
JimGoshorn
Yes, it would be great if we could set the increment and the unit of measure
sldx
Because working for print vs. web – very different requirements.
TS Monk
I agree that being able to customize the arrow keys nudge distance to very small increments is a basic necessity; I use it a lot!
Staff MEB Posted August 28, 2015 Staff Share Posted August 28, 2015 Hi all, It's now possible to customise nudge distances and units in Designer Beta 1.3.5.1 Check Preferences, Tools section: Nudge Distance and Modifier Nudge Distance. You can download the Beta from here (Mac App Store version required to run the Beta). sldx and vonBusing 2 A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

jango_fx
it's not working for single vertices though, or is it? i can move an object with 0.001mm precision, but not the points this object is made of in relation to each other?
jango_fx
also: it would be nice if the UI would reflect the same decimal precision. right now you can manually enter values of ten-thousands of a mm and behind the scenes, it will actually save that value and render correctly, but in your interface it will always round to a tenth of your units. So you don't know whats actually hidden behind a value, you see. Even worse: if you copy-paste values, you will copy the rounded interface-version and not the actual value of the field you wanted to copy...
