Can't find licence.xml file

Recommended Posts

I would like to deactivate the Affinity Photo 1.8 on a laptop so I can hand it to another AP user who would then enter his own registration details.  I have found various previous posts on a similar theme that suggest deleting the licence.xml file in the hidden directory  C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Photo\1.0.  In File Explorer but all this has are two further empty subfolders for lensprofiles and plugins.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Chris

Hi,

As I said in my post, there is nothing in that folder for Photo!  However after some more searching, I have found the licence located in C:\Program Files\Affinity\Affinity Photo\licence.xml

I presume it was moved when v1.8 was brought out.  For Designer, it is where you mentioned but I can't find Publisher's licence anywhere.

Regards,

Chris

Note that MEB gave you 2 folders to look in. ProgramData (where you found nothing) and Program Files (where you found it, though in a slightly different subdirectory name).

For Publisher, I think you'll always find it in the ProgramData version, if you purchased directly from Serif, as you'll see on my Windows copy:

(If you did not purchase from Serif, your license is tied to your Microsoft Store account, and you would not have that file.)
