Alex Shaw
Recently had this problem with Publisher 2. With the same file on two macs, I could Italicise and bold on one machine but not on the other. The typeface was Inter (https://github.com/rsms/inter). It offers the typeface as a single variable font file and as separate ttf files for each variation. The machine with the single variable file was the one that didn't work so removing that and installing the individual files fixed the problem for me. Hi Alex and welcome to the forums. Affinity doesn't support variable fonts so you will get unexpected results when trying to use them. Always use the static versions of those fonts.
