Hi team,

Creating a mock signature in Designer on iPad, in a Publisher created document, keeps having a border around it. See attached. Letting you know of this issue even though there is a workaround. I created a new document in Designer on iPad, had no border issue, so copied and pasted it into the Publisher created document in Designer on iPad.

Can you provide the actual document (.afpub or .afdesign) that you created in Publisher? That would let us see what happened. Just having a picture of it doesn't.

For a guess, though, you have a text frame with a stroke in Publisher, which is not a function provided by Designer.

Thanks for getting back to me. The file is attached. Just remember, I can create the text frame in Designer in another document, and drag it into the publisher document with no border, so what you’re are saying could be correct.

@walt.farrell is correct:

Attached same file without the stroke:

no_stroke.afpub

I think the work around is owning all three Affinity apps 😞 - unless Serif comes up with a "remove formatting" solution for customers who only have one app.

The usability issue is that you can open this file in Designer and not understand what the problem is and how to resolve it - even if you own Publisher as well. Sharing code but not features has advantages and disadvantages. This is clearly one of them.

  • "The user interface is supposed to work for me - I am not supposed to work for the user interface."
  • Computer-, operating system- and software agnostic; I am a result oriented professional. Look for a fanboy somewhere else.
  • “When a wise man points at the moon the imbecile examines the finger.” ― Confucius
  • Not an Affinity user og forum user anymore. The software continued to disappoint and not deliver.
