Umar Ali Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Hi, I'm new to affinity designer, recently I made a logo in AD and exported it as a PNG logo. However when I transferred the file on my mobile device, the gallery will not open the file and the screen appears blank. I then tried to use the Png file in a web based application 'Canva', but the png file will not upload to Canva, I get a message stating the following "we are unable to upload this file as it is not compatible with Canva or it is corrupted. Note: I have uploaded other png files (not made in AD) to my phone and Canva and these work. Quote
Umar Ali Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 I also tried uploading my png logo to photobox website and the file is not recognised. Is there a support email for AD for me to get in touch with them. Your advise will be appreciated. Quote
Wosven Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Hi, Did you tried different exports/settings for exporting this PNG or only this file? Quote
Umar Ali Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 Hi, I tried different export settings, I also tried different format e.g. SVG. I tried changing the preset. With regards to the PNG file, once downloaded onto my desktop it seems fine and the file will open, the trouble is other softwares/online application will not recognise it such as photobox, Canva and even my mobile phone gallery. I'm sure I am most probably doing something wrong when exporting, otherwise other people would've said the same. I hope I do find a solution to this problem, as I really like AD and considering to also by the AP, but not being able to use it on other platform, it is a problem. Quote
Wosven Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 If you can post the file here perhaps we'll find the problem. Quote
Umar Ali Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 Hi, thank you for getting back. I really appreciate you taking your time to help me out here. I have attached the file. Quote
Umar Ali Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 I seem to have the same problem with jpeg file where I cannot use it in photobox or Canva Quote
Wosven Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Your first file is really huge (16M), I think that's why it doesn't load in other apps, unless you wait a long time. Try exporting it /4 or /10 and it should load in other apps faster. It's best if you check the required size before exporting, to have it at the right size. Quote
Umar Ali Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 tried different file size, initially the first thing came to mind was the file size may be too large. I have tried file less than 1MB Quote
Wosven Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 I have no problem importing smaller files (500 pixels width, for example) in canva, or other PNG and SVG made with Affinity apps. You need to check if there's a file size limit, since your other files don't load if not resized. [edit] And your files downloaded are displayed without any problem on my phone [/edit] Quote
Umar Ali Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 Hi, Thank you for looking into this. Its strange this don't work for me and I see you have no issue uploading my file on your Canva account. I get the following error message. Quote
Wosven Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Did you resize it first at, for example 500×500 pixels? Quote
Umar Ali Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 I just literally tried this and switched from RBG 16 bit to RGB 8 bit. I've done 400/400 px and it worked. Quality a bit low now but it worked. thanks so much for your help. Quote
Wosven Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 You're welcome. Keep on checking with larger sizes, it's probably the 16 bit that are causing errors. SVG would be better since it's vector. Quote
