@os design in addition to the advice from @Pšenda you can draw a marquee selection with the Node Tool around several nodes at once and hit the Delete key.   That is, if all the nodes you want to delete are next to each other!

At least on Macs, if you hold down the alt/option key you can drag to make 'lasso' node selections with the Node Tool. If you hold down the alt/option key & click instead of drag, you enter polygon selection mode. You can also use these selection modes with the Shift key to add nodes to the selection.

The Status bar at the bottom of the workspace window lists the options.

I just want to confirm, this works exactly the same way on Windows when using the [ALT]-Key.

hello , does anyone knows how can i decrease the nodes like the following picture ?

thanks inDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.jpg.63e01743bfc0548e347934afe2fbef0a.jpg advanced

The Smooth Curve button (looks like a sine wave) in context toolbar of Node Tool will remove redundant nodes that lie in a straight line, without you needing to manually select the nodes to be removed.
