Fixx Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 When I select a bunch of objects containing texts and paths, adjusting font colour affect all selected objects. Surely when I adjust font colour it should affect only text, not paths? This may not be a bug but it cannot be by design either... please correct the behaviour. Jowday 1 Quote

fde101 Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Thanks. While it is labeled "Font Color" in the Character panel, that appears to be acting in effect as another way to reach the same color that is set by the Color panel. Since that one has an effect on both the fill color of selected shapes and the color of text, it is not clear to me if this is a bug in the behavior of the control or a poor choice of labeling. The fill tool, for example, consistently shows the color options for "Fill" and "Stroke" even if text is selected, so there does not appear to be an actual "text color", but rather the text is colored based on the fill and stroke colors assigned, so if you read the "text color" control as a "fill color" control the behavior makes more sense. In Publisher, when there is a text object selected, you can target either the text or the frame with the Fill tool. When you have both text and non-text objects selected, targeting the text causes the other objects to be changed as well, but targeting the frame does not. Based on this, the text color seems to be tied to the same underlying color properties as the non-text objects, and it is the frames that differ and use a different set of colors. The label on the control makes this look wrong, but I am leaning toward it being the label rather than the behavior that needs to be fixed. Pšenda 1 Quote

Yes, Font Color in Character panel is same as Fill color in Color/Swatches panel (It differs only in the label, that corresponds to its location in the Characters panel). When you change one color, the other also changes.
