Continuation of Buttons placed top of screen

The top bar does not register any touches

As no-one added a video, here is one: First you see that the the touchscreen works (moving the cursor from the bottom through the top around) but if you tap the top bar the touches don't get registered. as a previous user said, it's not a hardware issue since all the other apps work on those spots (or when rotating the screen)

Hi Achronius,

What model of iPad are you using (and the screensize)? I presume you're also using the Apple Pencil 2? Is your iPad being used in Portrait mode - I can see what appears to be the front facing camera at the top, but its position to the button hints that you may have enlarged the UI on the iPad. If this is the case which of the settings have you enabled in settings to do this?

I've tried this myself using a 2018 11" iPad Pro and not seeing any of the behaviour you're getting. See attached video.

Hello Sean!

  • Using the Apple Pencil 2, ipad pro (2020), 12,9 Inches (os 13.5.1), newest version of affinity designer for ipad
  • The device is in Landscape mode, the ui is regular size and thats not the camera but an airbubble of the paperlike i'm using.

I could make a video where I rotate the ipad to different positions but its always the same - The cases when it works is when i touch the very bottom of the icons. If i should make more videos or tests let me know

Hi Achronius,

I apologize if this sounds somewhat condescending, but have you tried turning your iPad off and on again? I've been speaking to development about this and they've encountered this once and found it to be system-wide after demonstrating the same problem in Safari. He did find a reboot had solved it.

Thanks Sean, yeah - this actually helped (Why didn't I as a software engineer think of that hah). Would also explain why the issue vanished for the others who had the the same problem

I went back today to make the screencast, but the behavior is no longer there :)

previously though, it was the same in full screen view and horizontal strokes didn’t work (i had originally tried those for my screen shot, but the vertical lines were easier to show)

So I’m not sure exactly how to reproduce this now, but I will post if I see it surface again
