Xcode Export Description Builder

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Firstly wanted to say thanks for implementing the Xcode Export Description Builder, it works great for a couple of iOS and Mac apps I've been working on. If anyone's unfamiliar with the tool it creates a JSON file that Xcode will read and saves you having to drag and drop each PNG of varying sizes into Xcode.

I'm currently working to create a watchOS app icon and tried to create my own preset for this by manually changing the 'idiom' field user variables. This approach has worked well in the past to update the presets that AD comes with for iOS 13. Whilst this does work to change the idiom field to 'watch' or 'watch-marketing' as needed, the tool ignores any other variables entered, which in the case of watchOS are required (specifically 'role' and 'subtype', that are used for different watch sizes) to get Xcode to read them.

I've tried all of the presets on the tool, but I am assuming it's built to only allow the 'idiom' field to be manipulated. I would love to have the ability to customize the builder further as it saves so much time and future-proof's AD against new updates that Apple may implement in Xcode.
