Hello to Affinity team,

I'd like to greet you and thank you for the work you do at Affinity.
I bought the whole package of your programs. I would like to switch from Adobe, but ...

I have a big problem with fonts.
Publisher does not see all the fonts that are installed on the system. He don't see entire font families. Other programs (InDesign, Photoshop ...) see all fonts. The strange thing is that Designer sees more font than Publisher, but still doesn't see them all. How is it possible?

Each time you turn on the program, Publisher sees different fonts. What is it omg? Why?

When opening a * .idml file, it does not report the missing font and automatically replaces it with some available font. This is unacceptable. If a document is used in the document that it does not see, it cannot simply replace it automatically. It should ask what to do with the font not found.
This is a pretty big shortcoming in the functionality of the program. Or do you have a solution?
I'll be happy if you help me, otherwise I bought the software completely unnecessarily.
Thank you very much.

@Miress,

Welcome to the forums.

How many fonts have you got installed? Do you use a font manager that loads them on demand?

Hello, and thank you.
I currently have 1200 fonts (various font families) installed, which I use and I use FontExpert 2019 for font management.
I don't think that should affect the functionality of Publisher.

The reason I'm asking is that if one of our apps had a problem with a font, all should be affected. They all use the same font loading engine. Are those fonts you need Active before you open the apps?

Hello Gabe,
I think I came up with a problem. I uninstalled all non-system fonts and completly FontExpert.
Subsequently, I reinstalled FontExpert and gradually added fonts to new folders and tested them to appear in the Publisher.
And everything works perfectly. I installed the remaining fonts and everything works fine.
So the problem was not in Publisher, but apparently in poorly installed fonts. It is necessary to pay attention to duplications - system versus FontExpert.
