Blending hair into changed background

Recommended Posts

Re Affinity Photo on Macbook:

Two issues....

I have added a white background to an image and saved it on the desktop but the hair now has a kind of halo effect and looks as if it is superimposed on the white background. How do I blend the silhouette. Do I have to start again or can I work on this which I saved to my desktop

As the photo was taken in bright light, the blonde hair looks white, Is it possible to darken it slightly? if so, any easy ways to do this?

Many thanks for suggestions.

Did you remove the subject from another image as it may be worth redoing the selection, perhaps with Soft Edges enabled (Context toolbar)

Another option would be to create a new layer and use a brush colour similar to the hair to paint over the lighter areas, then change the opacity or blend mode of that layer.

You need to look into using Channels to make selections when trying to select or mask hair, fur etc., and avoid that ‘halo’
