Hey. I'm new to Affinity and bought Photos yesterday specifically to resize images without losing quality before uploading them to websites.

I resized my first image a few minutes ago and it went from under 1mb in size to 3mb. I went to document, resize document, changed the size and picked Lanczos 3 separable.

I didn't even think it was possible to make the file size larger by making the dimensions smaller. Anyone able to help me out?

With the information provided my guess would be the compression might have been higher on the save after resize then it was on the original.  A drop form 100% to 90% in the quality setting can result with a document file that is only 1/3 the size with no change to the image size.  Personally I can't really see a difference in the picture on the screen between 90 and 100.  Or even 80 and 100 for many pictures.
