Hello to all the friends of the forum,

Publisher 1.8.3,
I have images to which I have to add captions, I have gone around the menus but, I could not find anything.

You need to add your captions manually with either a Text Frame or Artistic Text.
If you have lots to do then consider making some Assets to make the process quicker.

Yes such features (automatic support for ... figure numberings, footnotes/endnotes, bibliography ... etc.) are missing and yet not implemented.

Yes, the ability to auto generate image captions is important. I am evaluating Affinity Publisher to see if I (& others) can convert from Indesign and this is another weakness that needs to be plugged. Being able to auto generate a caption from  the file name and meta data reduces typesetting effort considerably.
