Text Frame Dialog - Scroll Bar Jumps for Start & End Line Options

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm a novice in Publisher. I'm not sure if this has been reported, but it seems like a bug to me.

Version: 1.8.3

Description: When using the Artistic Text Tool under the "Text Frame" Panel, I tried using the "Texture Line Style" stroke option. The Start or End line style options have different sections (e.g. Triangle, Simple, Closed, Datum, etc.). When I try to move between any of these sections, the program moves the scroll bar back up to the top and the selection ends up on something different than what I intended. If the scroll bar is already at the top, it will flicker the selection to highlight on the top selection (which is "None") for a split second. I tried this with the "Solid" and "Dashed" stroke styles and these had the same issue.

Steps:

  1. Launch the Artistic Text Tool
  2. Click on the Text Frame Option to bring up a panel
  3. Change the Frame Stroke option to open a sub-dialog box and select a Style (can be any of them - Solid, Dashed, Texture)
  4. While still in the sub-dialog box, click on either the Start or End buttons to open different types of line options
  5. Try moving the cursor between different sections with the scroll bar at the top and the selection will briefly flicker on the "None" option
  6. Now move the scroll bar down and try moving the cursor between different sections. The scroll bar will jump back up.

Screenshots/Video: I have attached a recording here with the Texture Line Stroke Style

Computer: Dell Precision 7510

Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro M1000M & Intel HD Graphics 530

I am still learning Publisher and haven't had prior experience seeing if this used to work.
