gumbo23
I still cannot find a word count option, or any news on its implementation. Has it been added somewhere yet?
Fixx
No, I would think it is low priority. People usually do word counting with word processors.
Blende21
As a workaround for Mac users: I use a little program called pop clip. It installs in the menu ribbon and is available while working on other programs, offering a lot of functions that can be selected from a long list of integrations. It allows an immediate Character and word count when text is selected. I am aware that this may not be of help with large documents, and I have not tried what happens if you choose „select all“ before moving the mouse pointer over the selected text. RichZep
For any lengthy text I use a word processor as I find they are quicker and have more functions. I save the file, or multiple files, and then bring it into Publisher. This can be handy if you are working for a client or department and someone wants to amend the text. Send them the text file and then re-flow when returned. It’s REALLY handy if you faf things up, as we all have. You won’t have to retype it again. Jowday
😣 Try assuming scenarios without a word processor directly involved - or involved anymore. v_kyr
Well if the APub search panel (which claims to also supports reg expressions) would have/show also a match count number, then one could as a workaround at least use a global reg expr for a general words search therefor. But AFAI recall during one/two pre-beta tests in the past, APub hasn't any match count number added/implemented yet on their search/replace panel.
