Hi Everyone

Am unable to locate the Artboard Tool in Affinity Designer.  Has this tool been removed? I can create an artboard using Doc Setup. Can also select the artboard that gets created and duplicate into a new artboard and rename. However the actual Tool within toolbox is missing.

I have not used the default Tool panel layout for years so I may have this wrong but I think by default the Artboard Tool is a secondary tool grouped with the Node Tool. Tool groups are indicated by a tiny triangle at the bottom right corner, like the ones shown in the screenshots.

To switch among grouped tools when using the default layout, either click on the triangle or click & hold briefly on the tool's icon until a menu pops up with all of the group's tools & select the desired one from there.

The Artboard Tool does not come grouped with any other tool, it is a separate tool all on its own

I have this problem as well.  No artboard icon. See the screenshot.  Not in the tool customization either, from what I can see.   Any ideas?

I think you're in Affinity Photo. Artboards are a feature of Affinity Designer, and there's no Artboard Tool in Photo.

I, too, am not able to locate the artboard tool. I went to View > Customize tools and it's not there. Any help? I'm sorry. I don't know how to link a picture here, but here is a screen shot. https://imgur.com/iPD3JqV

Thanks for your help!

From your screenshot, you are using Affinity Publisher, not Affinity Designer. The Publisher Persona of Affinity Publisher does not have an Artboard tool (although there is one in its Designer Persona if you can use that through StudioLink).

I had been using the toolbox but it has disappeared. Even if I open an old file, the tool box is gone. This means that I can not do anything!!!!!!

mac os mojave 10.14.6

I was just getting to the point where I could get things done and I am feeling very grumpy.

Yes, I have tried the customized bit and still no tool box!!!

It disappeared about three days ago.

Is it possible to get money back? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hi marilynm,
wish well warm welcome to this forums!

That sound really horrible. There is good hope to get your Affinity user interface back to your previously used state, – even after three days of disappearance (is there a certain period which would be acceptable to wait for it coming back solely just by itself?)

Do you miss a certain tool, like the Artboard Tool, as this thread's topic implies – or do you miss the entire Tools Panel, as your term "tool box" sounds?

If it concerns the box of tools, the Tools Panel, consider it might be hidden behind and covered by other panels, for instance:

p.s.: There is no cash-back action for lost UI items. And no fee to restore them.

p.p.s:  @ 🦄: hiding the tools panel is nasty.

If that is all that is missing from your User Interface, then use the View menu and make sure that Show Tools is enabled.

If that does not resolve it, perhaps you could give us a screenshot of your Affinity Workspace with the View menu expanded so we can see your setup and provide further advice.
