Hi and welcome to the forums @K2smithuk

I am just a user of the software and do not speak for the company.

Both, if you are using the software then you own it and can put it on new computers which you own and use. If there is someone else using the software for their own use they need a key/licence/copy and then they can use it on other computers they own and use. Without knowing why your son wants to use the software I cannot advise further.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

This may also depend on where you installed the program where you purchased it from.

If you purchased directly from Serif, what folder did you install the program in?

Seeing as it is the same computer just a different user account I would say just enter in the product key on his user account.

Been ages since I have used a computer with multi users, just assumed the apps when installed and licensed by the admin account that they would work across user accounts. Either way you can safely enter in the reg key for the software.

**I just did a test on my iMac. Made a new user account and did not enter my Apple ID info. Publisher opened fine and did not ask for anything like my Apple ID in which I purchased the software with in the App store. Maybe it is something unique to purchasing direct from Affinity?
