The only option I can think of would be physically moving the document into a different location/folder then try to open it from the open recent menu. An error-pop up will appear which will allow you to remove the item from the menu.

But that's similar to most (if not all) programs. I don't know any program which lets you manage the open recent menu.

There's also a recentfiles.xml file in the settings folder under %appdata% for the respective app which can be edited to remove files from the recent list

(This is on Windows)

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Hello,  How can I delete an image out of Open Recents , I do not want to "clear all"  have too many photos is "open recents". Thank you

  • Open the files you want to keep in the "Open recent" menu
  • Select Open recent -> Clear
  • Save the files one by one (make a simple edit and undo, then save)

Result: these files are still in the open recent menu, others are gone
