iPad Pro2017 : guides don't work

Recommended Posts

Ipad pro 2017 model. in some instances guides can be placed but neither moved nor erased - they appear permanently locked. i do not recall this being such a problem in previous versions.

also, snapping is somewhat chaotic, especially on diagonals 30, 45, 60 degrees snapping ineffectual. hence my need for guides - but they don't work!

There are three different types of guides, normal guides, margin guides and column guides each which can be displayed or hidden independently using the little triangle on the context toolbar. Which ones are you using?

Hi @SandMagic,

My sincerest apologies for the delayed response here. Are you still having trouble with Guides in Affinity for iPad?

Sorry to hear this!

Can you please expand on these instances, as in my testing I've been able to add, edit and remove guides from existing documents and new documents without issue.

I've attached a screen recording below showing the Guides in action, if you can please provide a screen recording showing your issue, then this would certainly be helpful for us.

thanks for the video. so after a week of working on a new file, i reopened the file where guides didn't work. a large file with about 10 artboards. i could not repeat the problem that previously occurred on many occasions. I know, it's odd and frustrating. the bug disappeared, or is it hiding hibernating? so guides are now working...if it happens again I'll start recording immediately before bug escapes again. sorry for the inconvenience, it's a bug's life.

I would like to point out that being able to set guide to a fixed angle would be nice...
